Mountain City Service

I have a long-standing relationship with the great team at Mountain City service. They have maintained and repaired both HVAC and plumbing systems for me at my home and have always done an excellent job. Even when demand is high, they are quick to respond, solve problems effectively and then charge a fair price for their work.

Really disappointed with how Mountain City bills their clients for services rendered; it's unethical and I would highly recommend avoiding this company. I found out in hindsight that the first hour of labor begins when the service is dispatched to your house - our driver was 35-40 minutes away. For a non emergency situation, the part required to fix our issue was not on hand and a run to the store was required. Instead of running to Ace Hardware up the street, the service person drove about 35-40 minutes away and was gone for 1.5 hours. I was not told this would be billed labor time nor that the trip would be this lengthy. Actual working time to fix the issue was maybe 45-minutes - which included a personal phone call while on the job - total labor bill was 3-hours. I basically paid an extra $250 for someone to drive around town for half the morning and uncovered these billing frustrations after asking for an itemized receipt. Customer service wasn't empathetic when discussing the invoicing which was also frustrating. Other reviews mentioned similar issues so this seems to be how they do business.

Tech came out to fix a leaking connection. He tried for an hour. Left to go buy parts for an hour. Tried for another hour unsuccessfully to fix it. I received a bill for three total hours of work, one of which was spent away buying parts. I was told by the office they'd only consider knocking off that hour if I agreed to pursue another fix on the line (which is still not fixed, as they say it needs a pressure reducing valve). I did not pursue that additional fix. I do not agree with being charged the full hourly rate for an hour spent away from the worksite. I would not recommend using this company.

Candace was as amazing as the service they provide! They are quick, efficient and stay out of the way of my employees. Everyone I have met or spoken with were super nice. Any problems I have are fixed asap! I'll definitely keep calling!!

No call/no showed the 1st appt; rescheduled to come out for a consult as our rooms had vastly different temps and wanted to see what a solution would be and get a quote for the work. He adjusted an air vent and said there was a $140 trip charge. This was never disclosed when booking the appt or literally touching 1 vent. When we questioned them on not disclosing the price, got super rude and said they’d send us to collections if we didn’t pay it. Honestly a shady company with the worst customer service in Chattanooga. Save your time and call Superior or literally any another company.

They replaced a shower cartridge and didn’t check to make sure it worked before leaving. I had to call them back to correct the hand held that didn’t spray and they tried to charge me for the callback including a car charge. They reluctantly took off the charge but frustrating to work with.

Rarely (and I mean very RARELY) have I found a company that provides such speedy service, professional contractors (and are just plain nice people) as Mountain City Service provides. These guys are super and they are also quite competent and responsive. Prices aren't 'cheap', but they are quite reasonable for the work undertaken. They have my business moving forward.

I’m sure Mountian City Service is great with all the services listed above! We needed them for plumbing issues in a 20 year old house. They not only found and fixed our issues, they gave us a nice deal on the new parts we had to order. The whole team is great too-from the ladies in the office to the guys coming out to do the service. You won’t regret the call!
